I am interviewing a freelance translator that has had to go from working full time to part time. Silvia D’Amico is a freelance translator and interpreter based in Cleveland, Ohio, working from English into Italian. Born and raised in Palermo, Italy, she moved to the UK to attend her Master’s degree in Conference Interpreting and Translations Study from the University of Leeds. After her internship at the Italian Translation Unit of the European Parliament in Luxembourg, she spent a few years working on projects for the European Union. In recent years, she has specialized in the translation of corporate/legal materials. She has served as Administrator of the Italian Language Division of ATA and currently serves as secretary of the Northeast Ohio Translators Association (an ATA chapter).
